A family recipe using homegrown veggies.
A modest spread encircled by family, neighbors, and strangers.
A prayer and giving thanks for the abundance, the ancestors, and the martyrs.
This is the dinner scene at the diasporic Lebanese home.
On the Levantine village homestead by the burned olive field.
Nestled in the rubble of the destroyed home in Gaza.
This is how we resist imperialism and occupation.
Description:
An online workshop series to learn how to reduce environmental harm and divest from systems of oppression during the holiday season.
11/21/24 Harm-Less Holiday Meals
12/5/24 Harm-Less Holiday Gifting
Chip away at the seemingly unstoppable, oppressive systems - starting at our holiday dinner table.
This radical act can start with reclaiming our celebrations and bringing kindness and awareness to every ingredient.
This workshop aims to support the community in feeling empowered to engage with the climate crisis and resist systems of oppression in ways beyond direct action.
This work will heal and cultivate a sense of wholeness - states that will serve us as we divest from systems that deliberately act to disrupt and exploit.
Highlights of This Session:
🌽Remembering the purpose of our celebrations, acknowledging their history, and recognizing how they’ve been exploited.
🌽Grounding in our personal and community values, and how they must guide our celebrations and actions.
🌽The current dynamic between us, governments, and corporations.
