From Landscaping to Land Stewardship
Learn how joyful and fun it can be to watch your yard come to life through the practice of land stewardship!
Join us for an engaging workshop to explore the ways that we can shift away from a culture of landscapes that include synthetic chemicals, fussy manicuring, and high-maintenance ornamentals.
Through thoughtful conversation, we’ll explore how we can move towards justice-oriented wildlife sanctuaries, native plant communities, and food-producing climate-resilient landscapes for generations to come.
In this workshop, we will:
Unpack the challenges of conventional land care practices and the impacts of climate change
Discuss elements, practices, and resources that can help to re-wild our yards
Explore ways that we can transform our neighborhoods into lively, biodiverse landscapes that are life-giving sanctuaries to humans and non-human relatives, present and future
This workshop is intended to support culture-change through land-tending practice. If you are longing to heal your connection with land and nature, if you are ready to let go of your lawn and bring in layers and pollinators, and/or if you are feeling the heat of the climate crisis and want to take meaningful action, this class is for you.
This in-person session will take place primarily indoors with a combination of group discussion, a visioning activity, and show-and-tell.
The class size is limited to about 15 people
